One Last Climb

Right before I left Atlanta, I got together one last time with my Emory friends and climbed Stone Mountain.  It was perfect because it was free and we got to be outside and exercise.  Climbing with friends is so much fun.  Stone Mountain is one of the things I will miss most from GA.  It's a really nice park with lots to offer people.  There are a ton of hiking trails, some lakes, a large road for bikes and sidewalks for walking.  They do festivals on the weekends and people seem to always be BBQing there.  And of course, there is the mountain.  I highly recommend a trip to the park if you're ever in Atlanta.  People will ask you, "Did you climb Stone Mountain?"

Cheers!

Tiona's 420 Wedding

I made it through the first of two weddings I have this year!  Tiona's 420 wedding was gorgeous.  She looked amazing and I had so much fun meeting her friends from college. My best friend Kimmy was a bridesmaid too so we got to do all the fun "wedding beautification" together.  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Hayes!

Cheers!

Tiona's Bachelorette Party

My girl Tiona had her bachelorette party on St. Patty's Day.  It was at MGM in Detroit.  It was a crazy, fun night with a great group of girls.  Had to send one of my oldest friends off to marriage in style!  ;-)

Cheers!

Late Post: Chattanooga Visit

When we on our way home to MI for Christmas last year, we took a little detour through Chattanooga to visit Kevin's friend Shawn.  Shawn has a store that sells various goods from local artists and craftsmen.  Shawn himself makes soda.  Organic soda to be exact.  He is one of the founders of Pure Sodaworks.  Their unique flavors of soda have been featured in magazines and Food Network's Alton Brown gave them a shout out when he tried some at an event.  They are now selling their fabulous soda in restaurants throughout Chattanooga.  So, if you happen to be in town, stop by the River Street Makery and grab a bottle.  I recommend the Apple Pie.  Make sure to take one home to make a float.  And I'd totally buy a candle too.  :)

Cheers!

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope that you all had a great day filled with family, friends and food.  Kevin and I went to The Quirks house.  We had a great evening with Meg and Nick, her parents, her grandma and her brother.  The food was great.  Kevin made his mom's broccoli casserole and it was a big hit.   We also had two pies for dessert, pumpkin and chocolate.  We spent the day watching football, looking at clothes, talking and playing cards.  It was a great day with friends.

Thanksgiving makes everyone get along...

We also got up at 6:30 am to participate in Black Friday.  i have never gotten up early for Black Friday.  I have shopped on Black Friday, but on my schedule.  Last year I got the black leather boots i had been hunting for for a really good price, at 1pm.  This year, we were in need of a new vacuum.  You can't be in a house with two dogs and a cat and no vacuum for very long.  Sam's Club had a good deal so we decided to get there when they opened to see if we could get it.  It wasn't that bad!  They gave us coffee while we waited in line and we only had to wait 15 minutes.  There was barely a crowd and everyone seemed to know what they wanted.  We all walked to our items, loaded them up, paid and walked out.  We were in the store 30 minutes.  I had so much fun, I decided to try other stores.  We went to Walmart where I got some socks and a Christmas present.  Then we went to JCP where Kevin got a sport coat for $40 and jeans for $15.  I got a pair of leather booties for $20.  After a quick trip to Target we went home and watched some of the movies we got.  Then I passed out.  It was a good day.  :)

Cheers!
