Found this gorgeous, vintage leather tooled bag sitting on a shelf all alone last weekend. I knew if I took it home, it would be fast friends with my other purses. It clearly wanted to go home with me with a price of $15. :)

I've been hunting for a pair of burgundy leather boots with a heel for three years. Last month, I finally found a pair. They are totally straight from the '70's and I am in love with them. They are everything I was looking for, all for $20. Patience pays off ladies. Oh, and being blessed with a small foot doesn't hurt either. :)

After searching for this necklace for a year, I was about to give up. I found lots of options, but they were all $30+. It's a great necklace, but it's not that great...

While browsing Francesca's at the mall a few weeks ago, I found this gem on the clearance rack...for $10! It wasn't the color I was originally looking for, but I liked the challenge. And at $10, I couldn't leave it behind. It looked great with my gray tee and white skinnies.

Before I went on vacation, I made sure to upload some hair tutorials from pinterest onto my phone. You know, to look cute while I was on the beach. :) I only ended up trying one, but I think it came out pretty good and it was pretty easy to do. Next time, I'm going to make the braid thicker and try to place it closer to my ear...

Color Vibe 2013

I was really excited to participate in a color run in December.  I'd heard a lot about them and they looked so fun.  They're 5K runs but they are laid back so you can walk too.  I walk.  :)  I talked Kevin into going and a few people from work also wanted to do it to, so we ended up having a little group.  I even bought extra color packets for the dance party at the end of the race and Sally and I made tutus to wear.  It was a complete mess but it was so fun.  I can see why they are popular. 

Oh, and little did I know, I did this while pregnant.  ;)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Kendi Haus!  We had a great, relaxing day.  I decided to make polish food like I used to have at Easter with my Grandma CC.  We went to the polish store to get all the things I needed to make brunch on Saturday.  They had a bunch of people in there stocking up but we got our Easter kielbasa, pierogi, and the butter lamb.  We also got pazckis!  We were really excited.  The meal came out great.  I think my Grandma CC would be proud.  :)

Mild Pinterest Addiction

I love Pinterest! And I'm proud of it. There, it's out in the open. Ever since I spent the summer in unemployment limbo I've been hooked. What started as a way to pass the time (just browsing and actually finding projects to work on) has turned into a mild obsession. I just can't tear myself away from all of the great recipes, style suggestions, gift ideas, and decorating/DIY projects. Not to mention all of the random funny stuff. If only there were more hours in a day to actually do everything I have pinned. And if only I could eat all of the great food without turning into a whale. Here's to a year of pinning!

After ringing in the new year (and our 5th anniversary) in serious style, the Haus of Kendi is ready for 2013!  We celebrated the end of 2012 in Savannah, GA at a NYE ball at the Hilton.  I found my fab dress at a consignment store for $47.  The other ladies seemed to really like it.  And Kevin always looks so dapper in a tux.

Hopefully '13 will be nicer to us that '12 was.  I plan on making some dreams come true this year come hell or high water so look out!



Oh, and did I mention it was a masquerade ball?  ;-)
