I've been hunting for a pair of burgundy leather boots with a heel for three years. Last month, I finally found a pair. They are totally straight from the '70's and I am in love with them. They are everything I was looking for, all for $20. Patience pays off ladies. Oh, and being blessed with a small foot doesn't hurt either. :)

After searching for this necklace for a year, I was about to give up. I found lots of options, but they were all $30+. It's a great necklace, but it's not that great...

While browsing Francesca's at the mall a few weeks ago, I found this gem on the clearance rack...for $10! It wasn't the color I was originally looking for, but I liked the challenge. And at $10, I couldn't leave it behind. It looked great with my gray tee and white skinnies.

Pixie

I just fell in love with the Pixie pant at Old Navy.  I'm not really happy with my body lately because of pregnancy and these pants are one of the few things that have made me feel good about myself in my wardrobe.  I think it's because they are stretchy.  And they look expensive.  They're on sale right on.  Totally check them out.  I snagged a hot pink pair and a black/white plaid pair.

The Perfect (Layering) Tank

I think every girl has a "uniform".  Mine has changed over the years.  In college it was my Michigan State hoodie, jeans and Uggs.  Now, it is some version of this (minus the scarf usually):

                                                        

I stick to the rule that leggings aren't pants.  So, if you are going to wear just leggings as your bottoms, then you need to have your butt and crotch covered.  To follow my own rule, I needed an extra long tank.  Old Navy sold them way back in the day and I have just one.  I needed more.  Imagine the layering possibilities?!  I ended up finding the perfect layering tank in the most surprising place: the maternity section!  Liz Lange for Target has the best tanks to pull of my uniform and other layering needs.  The tank is soft, long enough to cover my butt and it isn't ruched on the sides like most maternity tops.  You can't even tell it's for preggos!  And they're super cheap so you can stock up on all the colors.

37 Weeks

Here's 37 weeks.  Really ready to be done being pregnant.  My feet are huge.  I know longer have knees and I'm just generally miserable.  It's getting harder to find things to wear.  To be honest, I don't really care.  Just as long as I'm covered...

Work is also becoming really difficult.  I don't fit in the BSCs well any more and my back hurts after the simplest PCR.  So anxious to meet this little guy...

36 Weeks

I think I'm taking a bump pic every week now as something to do.  I don't think I'm changing that much.  I'm just ready to be done with pregnancy and this helps me count down.  So here is week 36, mostly because I like my dress.

35 Weeks

In case you couldn't tell, the count down is on to the end of this pregnancy.  I have enjoyed the journey up until now.  I think the heat is playing a big role in me being ready to be done.  My next child will NOT be a summer baby, as long as we are in Florida.

34 Weeks

Moving right along.  Only 6 more weeks to go!  Not sure where all the time went.  We're so not ready for this little guy to be here...  Have to put the nursery together and fix up the guest room.  We have everything for the projects, it's just a matter of the energy to move the furniture around.  

The heat is still a problem for me.  90 degrees everyday is rough even if you're not pregnant.  Thank God I work in a lab with a walk in 4 degree.  Everyone laughs when they see me standing in there.

31 & 32 Weeks

Here are weeks 31 and 32.  I can officially say I'm over being pregnant.  It's 90 degrees here everyday and my feet hate me.  They are huge and hurt when I get home.  And it has become harder to move around and do simple things which really bugs me.  I hate moving slowly.  It so isn't me.  And getting dressed in the morning isn't fun any more.  I know I still have a little ways to go, but I'm so anxious to meet this little guy and start this new adventure...no matter how scary it is.  :)

Grabbed this emerald green tunic from HM for $10 (and got a complement from my co-worker on the color!) and the fab earrings are from Old Navy.  PS, I love my hair.  That's the reason I took a bump pic.

This outfit is all Old Navy and all non-maternity.  Gotta have my linen pants.  Got. To.

30 Weeks

Well, it's the third trimester.  The honeymoon, if it could ever really be called that, is over.  I feel awkward and slow.  I can't move like I used to which is a bother to me.  And my feet are HUGE.  I hope I don't go up a size permanently like my mom did.  I really like all my shoes.  

Anyway. 

Found this dress in the clearance section of Target for $8.  Super soft.  I love a deal.

28 Weeks

Made it to 28 weeks!  This is a big deal.  It means that if there is a problem, and the baby has to be born, it stands a chance of survival.  All major development is done, now he's just getting some padding and finalizing so he can make his debut in August!  I feel pretty good now, but I see the rough road coming up really soon.  I think I'm about to enter that "I'm sick-of-being-pregnant-cranky-all-the-time" phase known as the third trimester.  :)

25 Weeks

Still feeling good.  Little Man moves around a lot now.  Getting harder to maneuver these days...

Bump Style: Budget 202

Here's my second round of maternity clothes deals.  This time I tried to find non-maternity pieces that fit my 20 week bump but that I could wear long after the pregnancy.  The key to this trick?  Flowy and stretchy.  My style has always leaned toward the boho/hippie vibe so flowy wasn't a big leap for me.  Most of the "maternity" clothes I packed away last year fit this description.  The stretchy part was really fun because I am now unmistakably pregnant but not huge.  I'm in the cute bump phase now.  I can get away with wearing fitted pieces that show it off.  And I stocked up on leggings.

It's also getting hotter which means lots of skirts and dresses for me.  One trick I have is going to the swimsuit cover-up section.  Those are usually loose and pretty.  With a cami underneath and a pair of leggings, it's a cheap and cute outfit.  And since we live by the beach, I can use the top later!

Bump Style: Budget 101

One of my big goals when I got pregnant was to look cute with what I already had and only add a few pieces for when I got bigger...for cheap.  :)

I starting doing research before I really needed maternity clothes to get an idea of what was out there.  I was quickly disappointed.  Clothes that were cute and stylish were too expensive and the ones that were reasonably priced were ugly.  I got discouraged pretty fast, but I couldn't give up.  My pants were quickly becoming too small.  

So, here's what I was able to find so far and where I got it.  Most of the things I picked are very basic and good for layering.  And I'm pretty sure that I can get away with wearing a lot of the tops after the baby is here, which will be important since my body won't be bouncing back in a month.  The jeans and leggings I will be saving for baby #2.  I will probably splurge on a cute dress for the baby shower and professional bump pics, but we'll see.  I hope you other mamas-to-be find things that make you feel fabulous, without breaking the bank!  Stay tuned for more deals I find as I continue to grow!
