I've been hunting for a pair of burgundy leather boots with a heel for three years. Last month, I finally found a pair. They are totally straight from the '70's and I am in love with them. They are everything I was looking for, all for $20. Patience pays off ladies. Oh, and being blessed with a small foot doesn't hurt either. :)

Sixth Months

Well, we're at the half year mark.  Time is flying by and, to be honest, it's kinda sad how quickly the little ones change.  Exciting too, but also sad to slowly say goodbye to your "baby".  But that's melodramatic, I still have a baby.  Gunnar is definitly not grown at 6 months.  :)

I feel I need to clarify Gunnar's monthly stats.  I don't take the picture on the exact day he turns that month.  I tend to take it whenever we're all in a good mood anytime during the month.  The stats that I list are his milestones for the whole month.  I just felt I needed to clarify that.  Anyway.  Here's our guy at six months old!

And here are his stats:

- I think his eyes might be turning brown...

- He is in constant motion, thus his tummy time pic for the month.  He just rolls onto his tummy then his back and back and forth.  I was told that he likes to just roll all over the floor at daycare.

- He smiles so big when he sees me walk in at daycare.  And he smiles up at his daddy when he gets home

- We started rice cereal!  He really likes the spoon but he doesn't know to swollow the food.  We're working on that.

- Bath time is so much fun now.  Gunnar kicks his little legs and plays with his toys.

- First trip to the beach!  Put his feet in the sand and the water.  Didn't really care for either.

- So close to sitting up on his own.  He can sit using his arms.  And he can sit if he's focused on a toy.

- He's learning his name

- He's a master at his paci now

- He's a major flirt with the ladies

- First Valentine's Day.  Got a cute pic with mommy at daycare and got a dancing wiener dog (like one mommy used to have)

- We took him antiqueing for the first time and he did really well

- Loves to look in the mirror.  Not sure if he knows it's his reflection yet. 

#tbt Statement Necklace

After searching for this necklace for a year, I was about to give up. I found lots of options, but they were all $30+. It's a great necklace, but it's not that great...

While browsing Francesca's at the mall a few weeks ago, I found this gem on the clearance rack...for $10! It wasn't the color I was originally looking for, but I liked the challenge. And at $10, I couldn't leave it behind. It looked great with my gray tee and white skinnies.

Mom Problems #2

Your baby sleeps for over 8 straight hours for the first time.  You, on the other hand, do not because you wake up every hour or so to check and see if he's still alive (cuz there's no why he's going to keep on sleeping, right?!  There must be something wrong!).

The Bear Den #2

I'm so glad this week is at an end.  It has been pretty rough in the Kendi Haus the last couple weeks with sickness and disappointments.  Getting our hopes up only to have them crushed.  It wears on the soul.  I pray all the time that we'll get a break soon, because I'm not sure how much more Kevin and I can take... 

Gunnar got pink eye two weeks ago.  When we got that under control, he then got croup and an ear infection.  The little guy has been on a steroid and antibiotic all week.  And, he got his 6 month vaccinations on Wednesday and she informed me that he's teething.  He's been a trooper, always smiling through the whole thing. 

Just when he is starting to get better, I got really sick Wednesday night.  Running a fever and coughing.  Kevin took Gunnar duty all night so I could sleep.  Thankfully, Gunnar was so tired from his exciting day at the doctor, he slept like a champ.

Since this weekend is Valentine's Day, I tried to do a craft with Gunnar.  That didn't go too well for my squirmy little boy.  I managed to get half of it done, but I'm not sure how to finish it.  In the end, it's a funny story to tell.  I'll be sure to put up pics if I manage to finish it, or pics if I don't.  :)

Now it is (thankfully) Friday and I have a three day weekend.  I'm hoping to get more sleep on Monday and maybe do some small chores.   Fingers crossed.

Six (Five) Month Photoshoot

I got great deal on a Groupon for a photoshoot.  It was expiring at the end of January so I had to use it before Gunnar turned six months (it was supposed to be our Christmas card picture, but I dropped the ball on that...).  Not great timing on my part.  Oh well.  Still counts.  :)

Here's our handsome baby boy being his happy, lovable self.  I dare you not to ooh and ahh over these!

Before I went on vacation, I made sure to upload some hair tutorials from pinterest onto my phone. You know, to look cute while I was on the beach. :) I only ended up trying one, but I think it came out pretty good and it was pretty easy to do. Next time, I'm going to make the braid thicker and try to place it closer to my ear...
